The NBCUniversal Campus Project was recognized in the Los Angeles Times' list of the eight best new architecture projects in LA for 2024. The project transforms the Universal Studios Lot into a 21st century creative campus. The synthesis of inspiring new architecture and landscapes establishes a campus heart and renewed sense of place on the historic lot.
LEVER designed two new buildings as part of the target LEED Platinum project.
The Commons, whose circular form echoes early animation’s zoetropes, is an 84,000 sf gathering space with a dining hall, state-of-the-art theater, two screening rooms, and a rooftop event center.
One Universal is a 350,000 sf, 11-story office building with a full floor of shared amenities to encourage community and collaboration within the context of a high-rise building.
Both buildings open to new landscapes by Field Operations that activate the campus with lawns, tree-lined promenades, and outdoor workspaces.
