The University of Oregon’s Highland Hall, designed by LEVER, welcomed architecture students and faculty to its new space for the academic year. The project involves the transformation of a former performing arts facility on a North Portland campus, previously part of Concordia University, into a contemporary home for the Department of Architecture.
LEVER’s design restores the building’s historical integrity while integrating modern educational spaces, including studio spaces and seminar rooms. The project reflects the Department's values by prioritizing environmental sustainability, with reused mass timber panels incorporated into the design.
