Wall Street Journal Architecture Critic Julie Iovine reviews “Quest for Beauty: The Architecture, Landscapes, and Collections of John Yeon." Iovine describes the show as “an intriguing and timely introduction to an idiosyncratic connoisseur and activist who brought a multidisciplinary approach to design before it became fashionable and understood the need to protect natural assets before it became urgent.”

LEVER designed the 6,500 sf exhibition space in collaboration with Curator Randy Gragg. The galleries include drawings and objects from Yeon’s work and personal collections. In homage to Yeon’s inventive plywood homes, many of the exhibition’s images and objects are presented in custom-designed vitrines made from a new material called Mass Plywood. “Quest for Beauty” is on view at the Portland Art Museum through September 3, 2017.
