The Louisa Flowers, Portland's largest affordable housing development in the last 50 years, has recently achieved LEED for Homes Platinum certification! The 12-story, 240-unit mixed-use residential building surpassed the original project goal of LEED for Homes Gold, and exceeds energy code standards by 24%. A few sustainable design strategies that contributed to this achievement include the use of local materials with low-emissions and high-recycled content, high-efficiency systems, and the site's close proximity to public transportation.
