Thank you, Forbes, for featuring LEVER’s project. Cascada is a LEED Platinum-certified wellness hotel in Portland’s Alberta Arts District. The project incorporates sustainably sourced mass plywood, triple-pane windows, green roofs, and a rainwater collection system that supports commercial water use. The design integrates environmental considerations with guest experience, featuring a conservatory-like social space, an underground thermal springs spa, and a fitness center. The structure is wrapped in oversized triple-pane windows, while the green roofs provide natural insulation. The lobby includes a living wall with rhipsalis plants, and the interiors incorporate durable Portuguese cork.
