Designed by LEVER, Cascada is a luxury hotel and spa in Northeast Portland, developed in collaboration with SolTerra. Architecturally, the project emphasizes the use of natural materials, including limestone plaster, which is used extensively throughout the interior walls, replacing traditional paint. The design also incorporates mass plywood, a sustainable material developed in Oregon, underscoring the project's connection to regional innovation.
A key feature of the architecture is the multi-story solarium, filled with natural light and greenery, which serves as a central space for the hotel. The solarium houses the conservatory pool, and additional pools are located in underground hot springs, highlighting LEVER’s thoughtful integration of indoor and outdoor wellness spaces. The architecture of the hotel rooms includes large windows that offer expansive views of Portland, providing a connection to the surrounding urban landscape.
