Thomas Robinson, Founder and Principal of LEVER, will deliver a keynote address at the 2024 Design Experience, taking place from September 9—12, 2024, in Wellington, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Auckland, New Zealand. The conference will focus on "From Homes to High-Rises: New thinking in renewable construction," highlighting innovative and sustainable approaches in architecture. Robinson will present LEVER’s work, including Albina Yard, the first building in the United States made from domestically fabricated Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT); Adidas’ North American headquarters, the first timber concrete hybrid in the United States; and Spring Street, the first major CLT and steel hybrid structure in Los Angeles, California. He will also provide an overview of the next generation of LEVER’s work and research, including the firm’s winning entry in an international competition for the Portland Museum of Art in Portland, Maine, and new research into seismically resilient structures​.
