The Grand Reopening Celebration of North Portland Library, a project by LEVER, will take place on February 8-9, 2025, hosted by Multnomah County Library. The two-day event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a series of free community programs, such as performances, workshops, and interactive activities. The renovation expands the historic Carnegie building by 1,500 square feet, creating a total of 10,200 square feet of space. Updates include a Black Cultural Center, a new early learning and play space, a large community room, upgraded technology, and public art developed in partnership with local artists. The reopening marks the library’s commitment to serving its diverse community with enhanced resources and gathering spaces.
