The EDRA55 Conference, held at the Hilton Downtown Portland from June 19-22, 2024, focuses on promoting human-centric design that sustains human prosperity, well-being, and the global environment at all scales. Hosted by the University of Oregon in Portland, the event invites practitioners, researchers, and educators to engage in discussions centered on design that prioritizes people's prosperity, satisfaction, and well-being. The conference also emphasizes sustainability, resilience, and diversity in the built and natural environments.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the conference features a series of Juneteenth workshops. From 2:15—3:30 pm, Chandra Robinson leads "Black Placemaking in Portland" in the Pavilion Ballroom East, while Kayin Talton Davis presents "Albina One Art" in the Pavilion Ballroom West. Following these sessions, from 3:45—5 pm, "The Black Aesthetic" is presented by Cleo Davis and Robert Clarke in the Pavilion Ballroom East, and "Building Bridges/Breaking Barriers" is led by Nate McCoy and Kevin Sabeta in the Pavilion Ballroom West. These workshops address critical cultural and artistic contributions within the African American community.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit EDRA55 Annual Conference.
