Jr. Architect / Designer – Los Angeles, California

LEVER Architecture is mid-sized practice recognized for design excellence and innovative work with mass timber construction. Based in Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, California the firm collaborates with communities and institutions to design buildings that elevate human experience and foreground social and climate justice.

We are seeking candidates to contribute to and grow with our award-winning office dedicated to design, research, and impactful projects across many different scales, regions, and typologies. The firm brings international experience and design excellence to a diverse range of building types including institutional, creative office, and multi-family housing, and is nationally recognized for technical innovation with mass timber. 

The best candidates will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for design, good communication skills, and experience with multiple design phases.

Responsibilities

Report directly to assigned Project Leader

Produce diagrams, models, renderings, and drawings for internal study, design presentation, consultant coordination, or client presentations

Research and prepare presentation materials

Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

2-5 years professional architecture experience

Experience and familiarity with industry standard design software, including Revit, SketchUp, and Enscape, is required

Experience with affordable and/or market rate multi-family housing is preferred

Familiarity with zoning and building codes is a plus

Experience coordinating with engineers and consultants is a plus

Licensed Architect is a plus

Qualifications

Comfortable working independently and as a productive, collaborative member of a team

Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate

Well-organized and detail-oriented, with strong graphic and verbal communication skills

Interest in ongoing learning and action to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession and community

Must live in the Los Angeles, California area

Work Environment

LEVER is currently a hybrid office structure with 2-3 days in the office.

Salary Range

$75,000-$87,000

LEVER provides competitive salaries, benefits, and a healthy work/life balance. LEVER offers a total compensation package that includes employer-covered medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as a Safe Harbor 401(k) retirement plan. LEVER offers the option for employees to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account, long-term disability, and life insurance plans, and paid time off for licensing exams.

LEVER’s paid time off plan includes vacation and sick time, and paid holidays. The firm is closed the last week of the calendar year.
