Thank you Metropolis Magazine for recognizing LEVER’s NBCUniversal Campus Project as a 2025 Planet Positive Awards winner in the Workplace category. The awards honor excellence in sustainable, healthy, and just design across scales in the built environment.

At Universal City, LEVER and Field Operations transformed the historic studio lot with new amenities and revitalized landscapes, drawing from Southern California’s natural setting to support creativity, connection, and a renewed sense of culture and place. The Commons and One Universal are among the highest-scoring LEED v4 mixed-use office projects in the U.S., making Universal Studios the first Hollywood lot with LEED Platinum buildings. The campus integrates energy-efficiency strategies, a central chiller plant using ultra-low GWP refrigerants, and lighter building materials to reduce embodied carbon. During construction, 92% of waste was diverted from landfill, totaling more than 9,100 tons, and drought-tolerant planting with 100% recycled irrigation advances NBCUniversal’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2035.
