Timothy Cooke, AIA, senior associate at LEVER, teaches an advanced research seminar at the University of Oregon School of Architecture & Environment, in Portland, titled Wood Design: Regional Material Ecologies and Community Practice. The seminar examines wood architecture through regional material ecologies, supply chains, and community-based practice. Students conduct field-based and case study research that traces wood from forest to fabrication to built form.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the seminar will host a student project review of Project 1, Mapping and Illustrating Regional Forests, and Project 2, Sabin ADUs: A Taxonomy of Timber Infill Housing, with Andrew Linn, principal and founder of BLDUS, from 10 to 11:50 am. A public lecture by Linn will follow from 5:30 to 7 pm at Highland Hall Gallery as part of the University of Oregon School of Architecture & Environment Spring 2026 Lecture Series.
